Please reach us at clare@clarelouiseweddings.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
I follow a simple five step process:
1. Schedule a free, no obligation meeting with me. This can be in-person, virtually, or by phone call. This is a time when we get to know each other better, we will talk about your wedding plans, go over all the wedding ceremony options to find the package that suits you best, and I will answer any questions you may have.
2. Next, we have a “Wedding Workshop”, where we really get into your wedding in detail. I will come to your home, a location of your choice, or a Zoom meeting for about 60 minutes and guide you through every aspect of your wedding ceremony. From this information I will write your fully customized wedding ceremony script to your exact requirements. You will have unlimited edits on this draft wedding script which will be shared with you on Google Docs so we can work collaboratively together.
3. To personalize your wedding ceremony, you will receive a questionnaire about your love story so that you can tell me all about how you met, your first date, and of course, your proposal – where was it, how did it go, and how did you feel. I will then craft a fun light-hearted and emotion-filled love story to be told during your ceremony.
4. I will lead your wedding rehearsal at your wedding venue, or location of your choice, a day or two before your big day, where we will practice walking down the aisle, your “I do’s” and “we do’s”, exchanging wedding rings, and your vows. This usually takes about 45 minutes, but I only leave when you and your wedding party are completely comfortable with every part of your wedding ceremony.
5. Your Wedding Day – I will arrive about 45 minutes before your wedding ceremony. I will talk with your other vendors, go over cues with your DJ, let the photographer know if there any special moments they may want to capture, and so on. We get you hitched! I leave you with a keepsake marriage certificate. Afterwards I send all your documentation to the SK government to register your marriage.
I travel across Saskatchewan for the All-Inclusive Wedding Package. The Elopement and Coffee-table packages are only available in 50 KM radius of Saskatoon. However, I am based in Langham so would consider towns such as Borden and Radisson as within the 50 KM radius.
My fees are based on distance from Saskatoon, this goes up incrementally by distances of 100 KM. All my travel expenses are included in these fees, there are no additional fees or surprises. The price you see on my website is what you’ll pay for wedding within 300 KM of Saskatoon.
With distances farther then 300 KM, I will need to give you a quote as overnight accommodation would be required and mileage would be charged at 50 cent per KM for travel in both directions.
Yes, I will. I am a firm believer that your wedding rehearsal is an important part of the build-up and preparation for your wedding ceremony. The wedding rehearsal takes place a day or two before your wedding day. It is usually at your wedding venue, but don’t worry if that is not possible, I have done wedding rehearsals in many weird and wonderful locations.
The wedding rehearsal will really help you and your bridal party get to know what will happen on your wedding day and if any last-minute changes need to be made. We practice walking down the aisle, the “I do’s” and “we do’s”, vows, ring exchange, and exiting after you are married. I find this really helps your wedding party as they want to do a great job for you.
I recommend and gently insist on a rehearsal - that is why it's included in my services for the All-Inclusive package.
If your venue is not available for a rehearsal, don't fret! We just need a space where we can imagine a "front area" and practice walking down a mock aisle and standing in a line. I've done rehearsals in city parks, living rooms, condo party rooms, hotel rooms, restaurants, and even a barn.
We want to do everything we can to make sure everyone is as relaxed as possible on your wedding day. A rehearsal - anywhere - goes a long way towards that.
I am unable to help you get your marriage licence, however, please check out this blog post for the requirements for a marriage licence:

A list of marriage licence issuers can be found on the Saskatchewan government website:
I arrive at your wedding approximately 45 minutes before your ceremony start time. This is to setup, do mic checks, and to check-in with you, your wedding planner and/or venue coordinator, your photographer, and your DJ.
The ceremony usually takes about 20-30 minutes but may run a little longer if you are reading your own personal vows and having a ritual such as handfasting or sand unity in your ceremony.
Although my time at your wedding is relatively short, approximately 90 minutes, there will have been many hours of pre-wedding work done. This includes our wedding workshop meeting, writing your wedding script and love story, contacting your friends and family, your wedding rehearsal, and practicing your ceremony script so that it all runs smoothly on your big day.
I do stipulate in our wedding agreement to try to start no later than 40 minutes from the scheduled start time. But saying that, I understand that sometime life happens and there can be unavoidable delays. That is why I only do one wedding per day.
I never want to run out on a wedding because it is running late if for example the limo breaks down (yes, that has happened) and I must rush off to the next wedding. I only do one wedding per day so that I can focus completely on you and your day. Obviously, I do want your wedding to run on time because it is unfair on your guests to be waiting around for your ceremony to start – that just makes for grumpy guests – but I do not charge for additional hours if you are running late.
I provide legal handling and registration with the SK government of your marriage within 48 hours of your wedding ceremony.
I do leave you with a keepsake Marriage Certificate.
Absolutely! I am a proud ally and excited to help you celebrate your love! No matter your gender, race, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression I am a safe landing place for all couples; I firmly reject any homophobia or transphobia.
I have taken Queer-101 training through OutSaskatoon and proud to be on their Q-List.
Reach out and we can chat about you and your partner’s vision for your wedding day!
Marriage Commissioners in Saskatchewan officiate civil weddings. They are not permitted to personally use any religious connotations.
Religious readings and prayers are permitted during civil weddings, but they must be read by someone other than the officiant. These can be before or after you exchange of vows.
I have officiated at many weddings where a family member has said a prayer or reading at the beginning of the ceremony. And I have given non-religious blessings to couples at the end of ceremonies.
I collaborate with couples every step of the way to make sure their wedding ceremony is customed to exactly what they want included and meets the requirements of The Marriage Act, 2021.
Absolutely!
Every wedding script that I write is fully customized to your exact requirements, but I don’t stop there! I love writing personalized wedding scripts, I have a passion to get to know the couples that hire me as their wedding officiant and that means getting to know your story.
Your love story is at the heart of your wedding ceremony. There is magic in how you met, got engaged, and love each other, and there is magic in telling your love story to your friends and family on your wedding day. I will tell your love story in a fun lighthearted and touching way that will draw your guests into your wedding ceremony.
No two wedding ceremonies are the same because I believe your wedding ceremony should be about you and it should be personalized to you and your love story.
Yes, I do. These, however, are only available within a 50 KM radius of Saskatoon. As I am based in Langham, I do consider Radisson and Borden to be within the 50 KM radius.
Please note that during peak wedding season (June to September) the Coffee-table (legal paperwork only) package are only available in the mornings on Fridays and Saturdays but can be booked for any time on Monday to Thursday.
Yes, you can.
I love it when couples write and read their own vows; they are so personal, emotional, funny, and cute.
If you would like to write your own vows but don’t know where to start, I can offer you support and advice.
And if you don’t want to write your own vows, that’s ok too. We can have repeat after me vows or one long question that you answer “I do” to. I have many sample vows you can choose from, or you can supply me with the vows you would like.
This has never happened, but fortunately I have a deep bench of several licenced and experienced colleagues who I know would knock your ceremony out of the park as well as I would. Your ceremony will already be completely written by me, of course, and I would call on one of my colleagues to seamlessly step in and read and perform what you and I have created together.
Yes. The DJ or venue usually have a microphone that I can use, you will need to let them know when you are talking with them.
My preference is a mic on a stand, but I have used handheld mics, headsets, and lapel mics.
No. That is your personal preference.
My service fees range from $150 to $650 depending on the custom wedding package that is chosen, most couples usually spend around $350.
Packages are available on the “Services” page. Each package can be customized to meet your exact needs.
I do ask for a 50% booking deposit as a retainer fee to secure your wedding day. I only officiate at one wedding per day, so this is to ensure that the day is yours.
The retainer fee is non-refundable but can be used against another day if you need to change your day - if I am available on that day.
The remaining balance will be due 2 weeks before your wedding day, this can be split into smaller payments if requested.
I invoice you for your payments through a secure payment portal. You can either eTransfer payment directly to me or you can pay by credit card in the payment portal.
